Credentials and Professional Experience

Courtney Holmes is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Georgia. She also holds a certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of SocialWork from the University of Georgia and has had over 10 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. Courtney has worked with adults, adolescents, and children in hospital and school settings who are dealing with mental health, substance abuse,and dual-diagnosis. She has experience with crisis intervention,
suicidality, and self-harm and individuals with a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder.

Approach

Courtney believes in meeting individuals where they are and helping them to gain insight into their problems. Courtney believes this is the first step in acceptance and change and provides non-judgmental support to help individual reach their goals. Courtney helps individuals and couples with communication skills and helps clients stay focused on their strengths. She uses techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Family Systems Theory in her work with clients.
