Approach

Emily’s approach to mental health counseling is client-centered, focusing on the individualized needs and goals of the client and providing them with a safe, comfortable and non-judgmental environment to explore and process their thoughts feelings and behaviors. Emily utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness techniques to support substance abuse with adolescents and adults. She provides marriage and family counseling in addition to individual therapy. She specializes in child-centered play therapy, providing directive and non-directive play, games, art and other creative outlets for children and families to express themselves, establish bonds and process any adverse experiences. She works with parents and caregivers to support their children in modifying behavioral concerns and address their developmental needs. Emily believes that working with parents is just as important as treating the children of whom they care for in order to meet their needs

Emily’s services are designed to help children, adolescents, adults and families restore their baseline functioning during difficult transitions.
