Katherine’s approach to therapy is humanistic and collaborative, with an investment in providing empathetic and holistic care. Additionally, Katherine has the mindset that clients are the experts of their own lives and collaboration is key to growth and healing. Katherine also values self-disclosure when appropriate in sessions to be authentic and to create healthy therapeutic relationships.
Katherine often works from a systems theory approach which means that she will look at the holistic experience of someone’s life- including relationships, environmental factors, societal pressures and expectations, cultural awareness and importance, past trauma history, and more. The systems theory approach acknowledges that each of these factors influence each other and that becoming aware of the potential problematic cycles and how they interact can help people in changing the cycles to achieve their goals and having overall therapeutic growth.
