Credentials and Professional Experience

Veronica Lockridge is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Georgia. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Services and her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Kennesaw State University.

Veronica has almost 10 years of experience working with families, individuals, and couples in a variety of settings, including hospitals, community agencies, and school systems. She specializes in the development and growth of her clients, enabling them to reach their goals through her personalized approach and use of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) techniques.

Approach

Veronica understands that each client has his or her own combination of strengths, so she tailors her approach to each individual and situation. With Veronica, the goal of therapy is to identify and change maladaptive thought patterns that may be contributing to unwanted behaviors. Her theoretical orientation is strongly grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). In identifying new perspectives in a non-judgmental environment, Veronica sees her clients become the best versions of themselves.

When she is working with children, exercises may be directive or non-directive depending on the child’s development and current needs. In utilizing the power of Play Therapy techniques, Veronica creates a safe space to express emotion, identify strengths, and learn new coping mechanisms. Exercises may include art, music, or yoga. Veronica believes that strengthening the bond of the parent-child relationship helps to promote the child’s growth; therefore, parent involvement will be required at times during the therapeutic process.

Veronica’s authentic, compassionate, and empathetic approach, combined with her diverse mental health background, enables her to build a safe healing environment and strong therapeutic relationships with her clients.
