Credentials and Professional Experience

Zoe Segers is a licensed professional counselor, with 18+ years of experience, who specializes in working with couples, families and individuals achieve their greatest self. Zoe earned a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Florida and Master’s/ Education Specialist degree from Florida State University. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and her local NAMI chapter. Zoe received her primary training working in forensic and psychiatric hospital settings as well working in local schools, community and research projects.

Approach

Zoe primarily uses reality therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy in her counseling approach, but also incorporates dialectical behavior therapy. She works to identify communication styles and build rapport so the therapeutic process and outcome are maximized. She also assists in identifying strengths and opportunities in each dynamic and examines total wellness as it contributes to mental health. Zoe views counseling a tool for learning to live your best life as the healing can begin when you feel motivated to make change.
